GrimDarkGames is an Independent miniatures and hobby store specialising in Dystopian or “Grim” futures, providing discounted supplies to the general public.

Started in 2021 and currently based in the Owston Ferry area of Lincolnshire, we now have a presence on eBay, Amazon and Facebook and aim to expand on our offerings from key suppliers such as Mantic, Warlord Games, Reaper miniatures and Games Workshop in the near future to name a few.

Our Shop
The current store is a modest offering attached to an old farm house on the outskirts of Owston Ferry.  Currently undergoing shop refitting, we intend to open to the general public in the near future and will post updates and opening times as soon as possible.

Items ordered by 2pm are usually shipped the following day using couriers such as Evri, Royal Mail, DPD or Parcel Force depending on parcel size. You can expect deliver usually within 2-3 days of postage and tracking numbers are provided in the order updates via email.

*Any items listed as “available for order” or “on back order” will generally attract an additional delay of 3-5 business days before receiving postage, but are regularly available from our suppliers. This method allows of to offer you a greater range of products right now and enables us to expand our stock gradually as demand increases.

On multi-item orders we may  part ship your order or notify you via email and hold the order until all items are available to ship together, depending on if splitting orders are economical to do so. We will always do our best to get your items t you as quickly as possible.

Customer Service FAQ

  • Has my order been dispatched ?
    Our order system will automatically send an email when we have dispatched/fulfilled the order,  sometimes this email can end up in Spam or Junk folders so be sure to check those as well as your inbox.
  • Can I track my order?
    Any tracking information will be included in your automated email as per above, or in rare instances my be sent separately once the order is dispatched.
  • My order has been dispatched but hasn’t arrived yet..
    If you used the free or standard flat fee delivery service, then please allow 3-5 working days for delivery (delays do sometimes happen) and then notify us if you still have not received your package.  You should be able to track you package with the courier using the tracking information provided in the automated email.
    If you opted for expediated delivery – this should be delivered the next working day from the point the order is dispatched. You should get in touch with GDG as soon as this time period expires and we will then contact the courier for an update on your behalf.
  • An item I ordered was not in stock, when will it be delivered?
    Any items that were available for order but marked as “out of stock” will be back ordered from our suppliers as quickly as possible and the customers order with GDG fulfilled as soon as the outstanding items arrive. The current practise is to notify the customer and place the order on hold until its available in its entirety unless the customer contacts us and would prefer we sent the items held in stock immediately. Outstanding Items will be sent separately at no additional cost once available.
  • I’d like to amend/cancel my order..
    Any cancelations or amendments to your order need to submitted at Orders@GrimDarkGames.co.uk  and should quote the order number in the email. Please be aware that amendments to your order may not be possible if it has already been dispatched.
    If an additional payment is needed to cover any additional items this will need to be made before your order is confirmed & dispatched. If your amendments mean a refund is due to you then this will be refunded through the same payment method you used when placing the original order.

    Please note that if items have already been sent out then it is your responsibility to take care of the items while they are in your care and they will need to be returned to us in saleable condition (unopened, etc). The cost of postage for returning items that have been cancelled and dispatched lies with the customer.

Returns Policy

If you have received a product that is faulty or damaged, please get in touch at Orders@grimdarkgames.co.uk to arrange a return. We would be happy to provide a cost-free exchange or a full refund.


Our policy lasts 14 days from the point of sale. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately in most circumstances we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging and you will be require to provide a receipt/proof of purchase.

Once your return is received and has been inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item and our decision on processing a refund (see below).


If your return is approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, usually within 5 working days. Refunds in store credit are also available, please notify us as soon as possible should this be your preference.


We only replace items if they are defective or damaged upon arrival and we are notified within 24hrs. We may require evidence (pictures taken within 24 hrs of delivery) of this before a return can be arranged. If your exchange is approved, the replacement item (or replacement part) will be sent out as soon as we have it in stock from the relevant manufacturer.

Unless the item is faulty or damaged, you will be responsible for paying for shipping costs to return your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Depending on your location, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item valued more than £20, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance to cover the items worth. (most shipping options will include £20 insurance coverage as standard) We offer no guarantee that we will receive your returned item, as this is not within our control.

Shipping & Delivery Info

We currently offer free shipping to the UK mainland on all orders over £50 and orders under £50 will be subject to a standard £2.95 charge*. The appropriate shipping option will be automatically calculated for you at checkout.

Orders to more remote parts of the UK  may attract additional charges or delays in delivery, you will be advised via a revised Invoice should this occur.

International Shipping 
Quotes for International shipping are available upon request, please note that international quotes will generally be packed in double walled boxes, fully insured and the contents declared where needed. We do not mark contents as “gifts” or at a lower value then the actual contents demand.  Any additional Import tax or duties will be the responsibility of the customer and not Grimdarkgames.
Refunds for international orders will be processed only on successful return of any unwanted orders, unopened and in the same condition as which they were sent. Lastly, it is the responsibility of the customer to organise return shipping to the retailer.

Expediated Delivery
We also offer next day delivery service that can be selected as an option from your cart during the order process.  Please note this will be the next day from the date the order is fulfilled, not from when the order is placed. 

*Weight or size restrictions could increase this charge if an item is particularly bulky, If this happens you will be notified in advance of an order being fulfilled and have a chance to cancel the order should you not with to pay the additional charges.
